Question Is Java Update 1 for Mac OK to download?

I am wondering if anybody had any problems downloading Java Update 1 for Mac OS 10.6.2?

A friend of mine has Mac, but she can not hear new sounds I added for the smileys. Greg, you recommended a website to download a latest Java from.

Before I tell her to "go ahead" and download I'd like to know if it's a good working Update and doesn't cause more problems. I'd rather be safe than sorry because it's not my computer. I would know how to deal with the problem but she will not know.

I very much appreciate your feedback on it. Thanks guys.

So, Aptech, you do not recommend Update 1 for OSx10.6.2, correct???

This my friend is NOT going to change anything on her computer as far as going "backwards" in version. I know it for sure.

I guess I should tell her not to download Update 1 for 10.6.2.

Mom,
It all depends on what MAC OSX version she has. I couldn't tell you how to find out either.

To see which version of Mac OS X you have, go to the upper-left "apple menu" on your machine and pull down to "About this Mac." A screen will appear which tells you which version of Mac OS X you have, expressed as three digits. For OS X the first digit will always be "10" followed by a decimal point and another single digit. After this is a second decimal point and a version number.
